High School. Four years of homework, friends, crushes, pep-rallies, and sports events. Some say high school was the best years of their life, others might argue that life gets better after graduation. It never seems to be quite like the movies, but when you look back at all the fun you had in those four years you can’t help but smile. And while the end-goal is graduation, prom night seems to be a key aspect of what high school is all about. Prom is made for dancing until your shoes hurt (and then taking them off to keep dancing), making memories with your friends, and it may be the only night you get to put on your fanciest clothes. You can’t do your senior prom twice, so for all those grads out there, it’s important to make prom night the best night. There are a few steps you can take to make sure your prom is a night to remember:

1. Deciding on a Date (Or Not!) – The most stressful part about prom season is the pressure to have a date. It may seem like everyone around you is getting asked in the cutest “prom-posals” ever. If you decide to have a date, check out our Pintrest board below for some creative inspo. However, it is 2018 after all, and dates don’t seem that necessary to have a good time. In fact, going to prom with a group of friends can make the night more fun without all the couple-awkwardness. Whoever you decide to spend prom with will make for a great night, anyways.

2. Finding the Perfect Outfit – Finding the right dress or suit can be challenging and expensive. You need a dress or suit, jewelry, accessories, hair, makeup, and shoes. Paying so much money for a dress you can only wear once simply doesn’t make sense! Try looking into dress rental websites like Rent the Runway. They will ship you a perfectly on-trend dress at half the cost you would purchase it at, and you can return it once you’re done! There won’t be any hassle of selling your old, out-of-style prom dress a few years later.

3. Arrive with your friends, No Limo Required – Carpooling with a group can save gas and save the awkward time waiting for the rest of your group to show up. If you really want to go all out, split the rental cost for a limousine.

4.Take lots of pictures – There’s no better way to reminisce about the good ol’ days than with a bunch of photos! Having a ton of pics to look back on will refresh your memories and maybe make you laugh at yourself from 30 years ago.

5. Don’t stress out about it! – Although the hype around prom causes severe nerves and anxiousness, it’s really no big deal! Being stressed about prom won’t make your night any better, so go through this right of passage excited and relaxed, and be sure to enjoy every moment of it.
